Cameron Yi - Student Intern
Cameron Yi is a medical student at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth. She graduated from Princeton University in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biology. Cameron became interested in the Finding the Value Project as it focuses on improving patient care through a very tangible and feasible method. She is excited to contribute to patient care research and to learn what patients find important for her own future interactions with patients. Between college and medical school, Cameron spent a year abroad in Lesotho with BIPAI’s pediatric HIV clinic and conducted research on the impact of psychosocial support groups on adolescent HIV patients, which she presented to the Lesotho Ministry of Health. During college, she was an officer of the Student Global AIDS Campaign, working to raise funds and awareness about HIV/AIDS in the student population and the surrounding community. She has also had the opportunity to intern with UNESCO’s Health Promotion Unit in Bangkok, Thailand where she conducted a gap analysis on national action plans on HIV in the Asia Pacific. Her experiences abroad and with a wide range of patients have emphasized the importance of engaging with individual patients to best improve outcomes.
